The Giacomini Meo Fiorot Foundation, based in Ciliverghe di Mazzano (BS), was founded in 1996 and recognised in the same year by the Region of Lombardy (19th January 1996 no.6/8105).
The aim of the Foundation is to protect, promote and give due importance to the historic, artistic and environmental heritage of the Fashion and Costume Museum, the Museum of Wine and Corkscrews and the Giammaria Mazzucchelli House Museum, the three museums with the common name of the Mazzucchelli Museums. Since November 2007, these splendid collections have been further enriched with the Pinacoteca Giuseppe Alessandra, a collection of works dating from the 13th to the 20th century.
The Foundation is named after its founders Piero Giacomini (born in Conegliano Veneto, 1935) a biochemical businessman, and Franca Meo (Treviso, 1939 – Brescia, 1999), poet and writer. In 2006 it was enriched by a consistent bequest made by Dino Fiorot (Treviso, 1919), emeritus professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Padua and Carmen Meo (Treviso, 1925), educational psychologist and writer, an expert on children’s creativity.
