The intention of the exhibition Clothes as Dreams. The art of recycling in costumes by Maria Luisa Squarcialupi, set up in the winter months, is to present the extraordinary costumes made by Maria Luisa Squarcialupi to the public at large. The artist is of Toscan origin and, being fascinated by the carnival of Venice, she wished to play her part in it with her personal creations of cloaks created from materials no longer in use, destined for destruction, with which she creates technically difficult works which typically feature a refined taste in colour.
The works by Mrs Squarcialupi have been exhibited in the Museum of Oakland (San Francisco) and the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery among others and have featured in numerous articles in newspapers, magazines and on television.
