Edited by M. Capella, E. Giustacchini, Missoni and Titian. Colour and Light from the Venetian Renaissance to the fashion of the twentieth century, Grafo, Fondazione Giacomini-Meo-Fiorot, 2005

The catalogue contains a selection of clothes created by Missoni, seen in relation to some valuable paintings of the Venetian Renaissance. This is the first exhibition in the Mazzucchelli Museums in the sphere of the project “Art & Fashion” aimed at capturing the mutual influences, the similarities in form and style which have been established between the world of fashion and artistic creation since ancient times.
Catalogue of the exhibition held at the Mazzucchelli Museums from 29th October 2004 - 27th February 2005. Text in Italian and English.

“We identified some examples, from among many, of this theme which best illustrate Missoni’s “tonal painting” concept in an exhibition. […]I like to quote Flavio Caroli, when he observes about the designer: “He knows and puts into practice the secrets of chromatic “impasto”, of glazing, of heightening, with the instinct which has been practised from time immemorial; the archetypical instinct of the expression through lines, lights and colours, which coincides with the essence – both historical and mythical - of painting”.
