A special relationship with painters and sculptors, set designers and directors. It intense output has resulted in a legacy of many rare pieces, presented here for the first time after lengthy and rigorous cataloguing.
The volume features over three hundred works created by some of the most well-known artists of the twentieth century, such as Afro Basaldella, Alberto Burri, Corrado Cagli, Alexander Calder, Felice Casorati, Giorgio De Chirico, Filippo De Pisis, Renato Guttuso, Giacomo Manzù, Pablo Picasso, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Enrico Prampolini, Luchino Visconti e Franco Zeffirelli.
The works are accompanied by the magnificent costumes worn in twentieth-century productions by some of the greatest opera singers and ballet dancers: Beniamino Gigli, Giacomo Lauri Volpi, Maria Caniglia, Maria Callas, Renata Tebaidi, Anna Moffo, Magda Olivero, Giulietta Simionato, Montserrat Caballè, Alfredo Kraus, Luciano Pavarotti, Aurel Millos, Rudolf Nureyev, Carla Fracci, Zizi Jeammaire, Alessandra Ferri e Roberto Bolle.
