F. Meo, The Museum of Women, Fondazione Giacomini-Meo-Fiorot, 1995

The catalogue presents The Museum of Women, which was opened in the early 80s due to poet Franca Meo’s passion for collecting. The ample collection includes items from the female world which come from all the continents grouped into seven sections: clothing, linen; holy vestments; work tools; children; female manuscripts; photographs, prints, books and magazines. Each of these sections is described in detail and illustrated with the main items of the collection.
Text in Italian and English. Translated by A. Butcher.

“This museum structure offers many kinds of interpretation, from the most immediate ethnological one to the cultural, historical and sociological- anthropological interpretation, as an interpretation of the history of the development of the applications of technology in everyday life, to that of the female role in the process of economic development, to that of the conditions and the sense itself of existence”. Diego Ambrosi
